So lately my baby boy Landen who turned two in January has been quite a challenge to take to the store. Given the chance I will gladly leave him home with Daddy but there are occasions where that just isn’t an option. So besides the opening of multiple packages of snacks as ways to keep my little monster occupied, there is also the rotating from sitting in the little part of the cart to the big part and having to let him walk at times. He is noisy, he occasionally drops things out of the cart and while walking he touches everything and moves incredibly slow. Most people I encounter in an average shopping trip walk by and smile at him…however a few are extremely rude; particularly old women. I don’t know why that is, as old women have been around long enough to surely have been around a fare share of two year olds in their time so they should remember the challenges involved with toddlerhood, but apparently not. Old men are among the nicest people I have came across in general, even picking things up for me that Landen has dropped. Today two old women about got my shopping cart shoved up their asses when Landen was pretending he was vacuuming the food by making vacuum noises sitting in the big part of the cart- they both stopped, turned around and stared with the dirtiest looks, one lady shaking her head and they just stood there like that until we moved to the next isle. I wanted to tell them how incredibly rude they were and if my two year old playing in a shopping cart is that big of a problem for them maybe they should have kept their miserable asses at home…but instead I smiled at them as I passed and that was that. People are so judgmental!!!
